ABOUT ME
I am Alyssa Westberry, a second-year graduate student in the Student Affairs in Higher Education masters program. Currently, I am a Graduate Student Intern in the Rinella Learning Center serving as an Academic Coach and instructor for EDT 110: Learning Strategies for College Success. Within the role of an academic coach, I provide guidance and support to students seeking better skills and strategies to achieve academic success and navigate other aspects of the university.

As of March 16th, I have begun working as an Academic Advisor for Virginia Commonwealth University. Within this role, I have the pleasure of working with Business Foundations and Social Work majors. Outside of advising, my interests include diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives and student leadership and success.

For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to help people. I never knew how or in what capacity, I just knew I wanted to serve other people. In May of 2020, I graduated from Western Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science in Recreational Therapy. Throughout my journey as a student leader at Western Carolina, I served in various roles that validated the type of service I would provide and led me to student affairs.
